For five months in 1945 his orders were to film the liberation of Bergen-Belsen, to collect the footage shot by the Allied Forces and to create a documentary. The film would show the German people what had been done by Hitler and the Third Reich. But German Concentration Camps Factual Survey wasn’t finally completed for 70 years.
